Santa Maria will be forming a Summer Praise choir that is open to 6th grade up to age 25. The music will be contemporary Christian praise and worship music. Practice will be Tuesday July 9 from 7:00 PM-9:00PM. First practice will be in the church. We are looking for singers and musicians- piano, percussion, guitar, bass, brass, wind instruments and string instruments. If you are interested, please see Mrs. Debbie Titus. Help us spread the word and make this a wonderful choir to praise the Lord this summer!
We will have a basketball tournament on Saturdays from May 25th thru August 10th. All interested men will form teams of 7 players, age 15 or older. All you need is to have the same color T-shirt. To register, please stop by the parish office. The last day to register your team will be May 20th. Vamos a tener un torneo de básquetbol de los sábados de 25 mayo-10 agosto. Santa Maria del Popolo Parish welcomes the International Pilgrim Virgin of Fatima on Tuesday, June 18, in the chapel, 126 N. Lake St, Mundelein. Enter the small parking lot off of Crystal St., just west of Lake St, Route 45.

The schedule for the day is as follows:

  • Confessions (English & Spanish): 5:45 – 6:00 a.m., 6:30 -6:45 a.m., 7:45 - 9:00 a.m. & 5:30 - 8:00 p.m.
  • English Mass: 6:00 a.m.
  • English Mass 8:15 a.m.
  • Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament: 8:45 a. m. – 6:30 p.m.
  • The Rosary in Spanish: 9:30 a.m.
  • The Rosary in English: 10:15 a.m.
  • English Communion Service: 11:00 a.m.
  • Stations of the Cross in English: 1:00 p.m.
  • Stations of the Cross in Spanish: 2:00 p.m.
  • The Chaplet of Divine Mercy in Spanish: 3:00 p.m.
  • The Chaplet of Divine Mercy in & English: 4:00 p.m.
  • A talk on Our Lady of Fatima in English: 5:45 p.m., followed by Benediction.
  • Spanish Mass 6:30 p.m.
  • Talk in Spanish after Mass
The statue will be in place before the 6:00 a.m. Mass and remain until 8:00 p.m.
The Blessed Sacrament will be exposed after the morning Mass for adoration until 6:30 p.m.
Blood Drive. There will be a blood drive with Lifesource on Sunday, June 23, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the basement. Donacion de Sangre: Ustedes son invita a donar sangre con LifeSource el domingo, 23 de junio de 8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. debajo de la iglesia.
We will meet to reflect on St. Teresa of Jesus and her writings on Saturday, July 6 at 8:00 AM in the school library near the chapel. Celebrating the Fifth Centenary of Saint Teresa is, above all, setting out to discover that among the ashes of this world, the embers of another possible world still smolder.
